Infrastructure & affordability
Being realistic about what we can afford today, planning for the long term, and seeking grants and partnerships that stretch local dollars further.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, I moved to Westport in late 2020 and immediately started looking for ways to get involved. I serve on the board of the Westport Arts Council, planning events like MUSICwestport, children’s camps and holiday markets. I’m also a member of P.A.W.S. (Prevent Another Westport Stray), and I help organize the community garage sale, among various other volunteer positions outside of the village.
With a background in marketing and communications, non-profits and heritage, I bring strategic planning and fiscal responsibility without losing sight of what’s important:
People, culture and environment.
Why I’m running
Good governance starts with listening, building relationships and communicating honestly with residents. It also means managing our finances responsibly and planning for the long term.
Our infrastructure needs are significant, and how we address them has a direct impact on affordability. We need to make smart, well-timed investments, pursue outside funding wherever possible and make decisions with an eye to what residents can reasonably afford.
The arts, history and culture that make Westport unique deserve our support, as does the natural beauty that draws so many visitors here each year. Tourism is a big part of our local economy, and keeping our lakes and air clean doesn’t just benefit residents—it makes good economic sense.
I’m excited about what we can accomplish together and about making Westport an even better place to call home.
My priorities
Being realistic about what we can afford today, planning for the long term, and seeking grants and partnerships that stretch local dollars further.
Providing clear, plain-language updates on council decisions and budgets, making information easy to find, and exploring more ways for residents to get answers.
Supporting local artists, businesses and festivals, celebrating Westport’s stories past and present, and protecting our lake and land through regenerative tourism initiatives.
